Call from Shawna regarding inmate treatment

Shawna called me 2/5/20 & stated following a "shake down" she returned to her cell to find her mattress had been taken.  She has a special mattress due to having issues with back pain.  Also, missing were several legal papers, including some with court ordered protection of names with sealed & addresses sealed.     If you believe this is unfair, not to mention illegal activity by the guards on duty, please call to protest.  (623) 853-0304b You can also send a letter at the following address:  mailing Address. Shawna  Ford has indicated to me that she will be sending a yard report to Michael in Texas to post on the blog soon. I know a lot of people have asked me about a yard report so I just wanted to get the news up there, so that everybody could see that there will be a yard report coming soon. thank you for everyone that reads Shawna Forde blog and God bless.

shawna has informed she is (quote) "choosing execution over the conditions of confinement" & "wants sentence carried out". (unquote).  

This has me franic.  While i understand the horrid deplorable conditions in which the ladies are kept & the effects of PTSD & depression on the mind, without proper treatment;  Shawna is someone i have come to love like a family member & i know she is innocent.  she doesnt want to live like she is for another decade waiting to be released.  that should tell folks how awful the conditions at Lumley are......

Inhumane punishments at Perryville Lumley Unit

Shawna told me that they are getting their rec time shut down or eliminated completely as a blanket punishment for the actions of individuals, even if that person is housed on a separate block. They are blanket punishing everyone in close custody with inhumane lockdown conditions made even worse by the heat and humidity they have to deal with.

They are in the process of challenging these insane policies but in the meantime it restricts all movement and communications such as phone access.
